Happy New Year Every One!

First of all, let me say “Thanks” to all of my fabulous clients/friends for a great 2009. What a year it has been! This year has seen some fun and exciting things here at the Click Chick. We have had some great mini-sessions, shot a model search with the Bimini Butterfly, and as of this past month I am now the proud owner of a 1920 red brick, 2200 sq. ft new studio space. Let me add that it still needs quite a bit of ♥ !

It’s hard to believe that 7 years ago we were in my 100+ degree garage shooting your sweet children, with lots of fans! J Then it was on to my in-home studio space where I used every available space!! What a blessing it has been to be able to work at home, doing what I love, and be with my girls, now 9 and 14 years old! However, now is the time to make a bold move and take the next step. I am ready!!

So, how did we get to this point? When we moved from Cabot to Austin in 2003, I fell in love with the old building across the railroad tracks. Every time I would drive by, I could see its potential. I even looked at it, or at least tried! It was trashed! Jamie said, “NO Way”! and it was sold and remodeled. Now when I would drive by I could see my vision unfolding, except it wasn’t me doing it! I remembered asking God ……why? This wasn’t the 1st time I had asked God this question. When we relocated to Central Arkansas, I interviewed with a well known Little Rock photographer. I wanted that job so bad and I was upset when I didn’t get it. God’s answer wasn’t what I wanted.

Fast forward 2 years. The building was for sale again, this time by-owner. Jamie and I looked at it. It was renovated and upgraded! Now, I really wanted it and I wasn’t going to let it slip by for a 2nd time! We went to the bank, got pre-approved, Jamie said go for it; now, time to make an offer! But wait, something didn’t feel right. I did not have peace about it. It was hard, but I just couldn’t do it. No good reason, just no peace! God must have been saying….just wait!!!

About 6 months later, I’m driving by and see a for sale sign from a realtor. I placed the call and my world changed!!! The price was much lower and Jamie and I met with Ted Arnett the next day to look at it!! We made and offer and 4 weeks later I had the keys!!! Thank you God for directing my path!!!

I am so excited about this opportunity that I have been given and I can not wait to show all of you my new place!!! I will be having an open house soon, so look for the announcement!! There will be fun stuff given away and of course, goodies to eat!! My new studio address is 100 First St Austin, AR. We are easy to find!! Take exit # 22 off of Hwy 67/167 and head toward Austin. At the 4-way stop, stay straight, cross the RR tracks and we are the beautiful building on the right! Remember that I will still be appointment for everything! I look forward to seeing you soon!

I finally got to photograph my good friend, Kendra. (from Bimini Butterfly) She's newly married this year so we thought we would go out and do a few shots with her hubby and their new puppy. He's the brother to the puppy in the last blog post.

I found this cool bus while taking a friend of my daughter's home the other day. Love it when this happens. Now if I just had one for myself. Anyone have one? Will shoot for bus! hahaha

I had a fabulous time with this young couple. They brought their baby Titan (7 month old Dane) Yes he is still a baby, he's going to be huge. The most laid back dog(puppy) I have ever meet. If I ever get another dog this will be the breed I will look into.

Sometimes in the mist of everyday life, something will happen that will bring you to your knees. This was a session that did just that. I was asked to photograph Miss Grace. A special little girl that is fighting the battle of cancer. She was chosen to be Gallery Of Hope's ambassador this year. After photographing her I can see why. She was such a blessing to have in the studio. I like to always capture a no smile face during every session but this little girl could not quite smiling. She has a smile that lights up the room. Went out to the Heifer Internation Center last night. If you havent been out there you need to go look around it is so neat how everything has a purpose to keep it all so green!

Need Washing?

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in 'Mom let's run through the rain,' she said.'What?' Mom asked.'Let's run through the rain!' She repeated 'No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit,' Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: 'Mom, let's run through the rain,'We'll get soaked if we do,' Mom said..

'No, we won't, Mom.. That's not what you said this morning,' the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm. This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet? 'Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!'

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain.. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.
Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore
what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

'Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If GOD let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,' Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season
and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

It's June and Fathers Day is this month. First let me just say my husband is the best daddy to my girls that there ever was. It makes me so happy to see him in the floor playing with them. They have their own crazy little monkey games (dont ask...but jamies the monkey.haha) Nothing makes me happier than to see him with them. They have such a great bond that sometimes I am a little jealous of, to be honest. But I would'nt change it for anything. Honey, I love you very much and you are the best husband and daddy ever. You are doing a great job with our girls. I love you forever and ever all the way to heaven.

Mother’s day is very important to me. I lost my mother when she was just 39 and I was about to have my first baby. I was always very close to my mother and I love looking back at a portrait session she, I, and my little sister did just 2 years before she passed away. I am so thankful we did that, even though my sister and I really didn't want to :) They turned out so good and I LOVE having that moment documented.

We spend so much time focusing on photographing our children that I know (I do it to) we don't take the time to get in the picture with them. So In May I would like to offer "No Session Fee" for all mothers and their children. This will be a 30 minute session on the gray background. This is what I call a no fuss session. EASY, FUN, FAST... It was a sad day here. Our little mIley got very sick and died all in about 12 hours time. We're not sure what it was. When I took her in to the Vet he sent me home with some pain meds. and said if she was still sick in the morning bring her back in and he would keep her to do further testing. She past away at 5am.

Most of you that have been in have met Miley. She was special to us all. Yesterday as I am thinking about her and her short little life. She was 1 and 1/2. I thought about all the people she had touched. EVERYONE loved her. I would get weekly emails about how she was, were did I get her, what kind of dog she was. If you had the chance to meet her you know she was special.

She had a wonderful life here with us. She will be very missed.

Thanks everyone for the calls and emails. Keep us in your prayers.

Wow Christmas went by in a flash. It was nice to have some time off with the family. I enjoyed every minute of it.

This is so fun, you guys are competitive. OMG!

It amazes me how fast my kiddo's grow. Yes, I call them my kiddo's. I have been photographing miss Abby since she was in her mommies tummy. Just seems like yesterday. When she walked into the studio (now 2) I couldn't believe she has blond hair. Last time she had very little but it was darker. She was so much fun. When mom or dad would tell her to smile she would close her eyes and smile from ear to ear. It was so cute that by the end of the session I was telling her to SMILE and you all know I hate that word.

This was so much fun. It was about to rain when we started so we had to work fast. I know we will see Miss Madison on Broadway someday. She has such a great personality. Not to mention she loves the camera.

I have to tell a little story mom shared with me about Madison. She started Kindergarten this year. Ok, with in the first few weeks she had to be moved to the front of the class for talking.(really? not Madison) When mom asked "What did you think?" Madison replied,"I liked it everyone was looking at me. All day!"

Saturday's Mini Session!

This Saturday August 23rd I am having a mini session you don't want to miss. "Funny Faces!" The kids will love this and so will all you mom and dads. Its very easy no dressing up. Just come in in a simple solid color shirt or tank. I will spend about 15 minutes getting as many different expressions of your little one that I can. Ok this is a collage, I will be offering 20x20's and 16x16's. I still have some spots available so call the studio ASAP!

That sums it up. What an active pair. I've been photographying this pair for awile and I always look forward to it. We have a ball. Morgan is 5 but she talks like an adult. She told me in the fall she will start school and that she plans on chasing the boys around the play ground.

Mason is 2 and he promised me that he would go number 2 in the big boy potty. Go Mason you can do it:)!!!

I couldn't see him because he was behind me but mom was about to fall over laughing. Then mom had a great little saying that cracked Slone up. "My baby got poopie pant? Who's baby got poopie pants?" Summer Hours

I will be in the studio on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. Also every other Saturday. I wanted to have long weekends with the family this summer. So that we could spend some time at the lake. So far it has been so nice.

I promise I will return all phone calls and emails every Tuesday.

Baby Eli is home and doing well. I know many of you know this family so I had to share. Today was his first photo shoot and he slept the whole time. He let me curl him up and didn't even pee on me! Not that I mind I'm prepared for all kinds of bodily fluids:) When a newborn comes in.

We went to Gulf Shores for a week and it was so nice. I really believe I am meant to live by water. Like on the beach or maybe a lake. No worries I am not moving anytime soon. However one day I will I know it.

I did get to do a family session while there I will show some of them later for now here is some of what we seen and done while there.

Jamie and his BIG fish. He and some other men from our trip went out on a 10 hour fishing trip. He had such a good time. And did'nt get sick:) We grilled this fish the next night and I have to say it was our best meal of the week. And we cooked it! Oh the type of fish is a Wahoo(sp?) Delicious!!

Its summer time!! And I'm so glad. I love the warm weather. I only have 3 weeks until we go to the beach and I am counting down the days. Were going with some other families and I plan on shooting them on the beach. If it all works out I'm going to start planning a trip every summer. So watch the blog for more details. We will only have a few spots.

Sorry I have been quiet for a few days. I got a little behind after spring break, the storms and then my girls got sick. Of course we all know if one gets it we all do. Right? So then I got sick now my husband is sick. Now that I am feeling better I'm playing catch up.

I have a few openings for Saturday's Mothers Day Mini session. This is were the dad's come in and take some pictures with the children. We will have them back by Mothers Day. Give me a call if you would like to get in on this.

This is baby "C" he is 6 months old. Such a great baby to photograph. He has 2 teeth and I wanted so badly to get them in a shot but he wasn't having it. Mom and dad said they haven't even got a real good look at them yet. He was so funny. Every time he would get excite and giggle (yes he was giggling I wish I had sound sometimes) he would lose his balance and just about fall backwards. But daddy was there to save him. Thanks dad for your help darning the session.

I am loving this adorable hat on little Piper. She graduated from the Baby Chic's Plan and this is from her 18 month session. She was feeling a little sick but she gave me a few smiles. Poor thing, I am sure she sleep all the way home.

Little A was in today for her 9 month session. Time goes by so fast. She has the best smile and lots of teeth. I love the hat with the garden look. Grandma found it for her. The duck hat is mine. I found it for 25 cents at Target. Gotta love Target! Looks kind of like my logo. So I had to get it:) I am glad it looks so cute. Until next time ENJOY!

Back In Action!

I am back from a much needed week off. The girls and I spent some time with my little sister and her family, back home. Going back made me realize that I miss my family and need to visit more often. So that's what I plan on doing:)

Did my first session yesterday with this cute little one. He was such a sweet baby boy. Oh how I missed being behind my camera! Love it!

I am loving all this color this spring. People ask me all the time "Where do you get your idea's from." and "What should I put my children in?"

I am always looking at adds. Like The Childrens Place (love their color) or Gap, Old Navy and all the little boutique stores. So I say bring in the color!!!! Thats what I am seeing this spring.

This little bundle of joy is 9 months now. It's crazy how fast they grow. She was just in for her 6 months seems like yesterday. Look at all her teeth. She is so fun to photograph always so happy.
